Welcome to our blog and website. We hope you'll check in from time to time. This is a work in progress, and we are learning as we go how to make our website and blog look great.
I originally wrote this in October, but we've taken our time editing our website so here is what I wrote with a few changes--our leaving is coming so soon now!
As many of you know, we had plans to leave for France in July 2014. We spent September 2013 until February 2014 preparing for our new adventure. I told all of my students, we shipped belongings to England, we moved into a 1 bedroom apartment for 3 months...and yet, we are still here! Plans have changed, we have a new countdown now.
We plan to leave Bermuda in April 2015. I will finish my winter term of teaching, Keith will finish at the beginning of March, and we will spend spring break here, saying goodbye to what has been our island home for 9 years.
Patrick started full time at nursery in May. He turned 2 the beginning of October. He is in a class of 8 children, and he loves being with his friends every weekday. He is learning colors, the alphabet, counting, and potty training! His language is really improving...although his new favorite thing to say is "no way" (he got that from me!)
I am enjoying my reduced teaching schedule. I have always had about 30+ private students. I now have just over 20 students who come for lessons each week. I am taking water aerobics, running short distances (no more marathons for me!), and trying to get more into cooking. I recently took a Nutrifit class which gave me new recipes and ideas for living healthy. I am trying a gluten-free diet at the moment to help with weight loss.
Keith is looking forward to the "new shop next door" finally opening. It has been a labour of love for him for the last few years. Unfortunately we won't see the opening, but Keith has made sure to prepare the bakery staff and wishes them all success in the new venture.
Lots of love to our friends and family around the globe,
